My school taught this whole convoluted system that was meant to help students with multiple tenses, but I just learned to apply the “ik loop” mnemonic which is so effortless (to native speakers at least.)
Sometimes I have to think once or twice about soft ketchup/'t Kofschip for the past participle, but that’s about it.

I typically shower for 60-90 minutes, I push my self and raise the temperature each week.
Nobody’s transportation and time is going to cost less than €0.21 per kilometer, unless you’re riding a bicycle and view that activity as adding value.
For anyone else, it’s a lump sum kind of thing. You’re compensated for transportation, but you still probably want to live relatively close to your workplace because there is nothing to gain from living far away.
I’m sure you can defraud the Dutch tax office but they’ll fuck you over big time, and I’m not aware of any such thing going on.
There’s even a genetic disease specific to Urk. Half of the people who have it are from the the former island and as I understand it the others have their roots there.
Where I live (NL) €0,21 per kilometer (untaxed) is typical. Some get a cross country public transit pass which can be used for unlimited private trips or even car which can also be used for private trips, though for cars this is seen as income and taxed. But with tax incentives for EVs it isn’t too bad.
There are also companies that pay something like €600-1500 per month mobility budget (taxed as income if not used, partly tax free is used for transportation options named above or KMs.) This is more typical in higher paying jobs of course.
It’s less typical to see time paid.

I’ll get a social welfare benefits which won’t be a lot but I can probably make do for a while. I’ll also get a medical insurance benefit which covers roughly 2/3 of my insurance so I’ll have to pay something like €40/month myself. Those benefits will help me pay the €385 max yearly out of pocket for the care I’ll need, and be done with it. That’s not to say being in this situation is great in the Netherlands, but I won’t go into debt and I won’t lose my home (gov’t guarantees mortgage to bank) and I won’t have to continue to pay back my 0% interest student loans.
We’re lucky. But make sure to vote.

Just kidding, personal heating is a very good solution to being cold. It’s much better for the environment and your wallet than heating your house/room.
I use electric blankets though no UGGs. Except rare occasions, my cats don’t get zapped. Have you tried going without and see if it makes a difference?
In Dutch, the only (one) is “de enige”. People often use “de enigste”, which actually means the cutest. Enig -> enigste.
