We have a similar one here in the US. People think if you go outside when it’s too cold, you’ll get sick.

They’re pretty much baofengs with much better filtering, so you don’t get front end overloading which can be frustrating.
Isn’t it maintained again?
Most activity, I’ve seen here: !amateurradio@lemmy.ko4abp.com but there’s a lemmy bug that’s not showing a bunch of posts. That should be resolved soon.
These are good cheaper radios (The price has gone up a bit)
They are fine for starting out with, but you’ll probably want to upgrade soon. There are better radios for around $75 if you can afford it.
Ham radio! It’s relaxing. My favorite activity is to take my portable gear to parks and operate Parks on the Air.
Try this. It might look a little familiar https://mlmym.org/midwest.social/
I put on ska on easy days sometimes. Today I listened to Supernothing by Streetlight Manifesto like 3 times.
It’s near enough the big city that I can go do fun things when I want, but it’s quiet here and not a lot of traffic.

That’s already happening here in AskLemmy. 90% of the posts are support questions, and there’s a sticky and a sidebar rule specifically banning those.
Yeah it’s a fun one lol. I haven’t opened it in like two weeks so I’m sure I’ve missed out already.
I actually just started this. What’s wrong with it?
I’ve been here 1 month and haven’t logged into Reddit since then. I vastly prefer it here. People are friendlier.
Ha. I host Jenkins (CI/CD) just because. I have some C++ projects that I wanted to run through a build/test pipeline. It’s not too bad to set up. Now it’s dormant 99% of the time though.
That’s just white gravy. https://www.thekitchn.com/white-gravy-recipe-23263164 make some for your mashed potatoes, too!
If it helps, the cut of meat you use for it is a cheap one and shouldn’t set you back much. Pretty much the only way it’s usable is by frying it. It’s not chicken, but beef. There’s also chicken fried chicken, which has a confusing name, but is just chicken cooked in the same manner as chicken fried steak.
Both are best served with mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli.
Edit: I misunderstood. You know it’s not chicken. Sorry, I’m on my second beer lol. Anyway, I think you’d like both dishes. I’m from the Southern US and it’s a common food here. One of my absolute favorites.
Ha!
If you aren’t American and haven’t tried it, give it a shot! It’s so good.
