  • That’s one of my issues though, Harris is less liberal than Obama. It went in the opposite direction.

I advocated that Biden step down and allow a primary. Instead they ran with the VP because the DNC is not interested in actually bringing a more liberal or leftist candidate.

Meanwhile Trump has made Bush look good in comparison, so even if he stops running, an equal or worse candidate will simply take his place, and then we’ll be faced with a similar problem.

It would take 20 years to make a grassroots movement work, but if we never start it’s never gonna happen.

  • I mean doyee?

No one’s voting 3rd party because they think they’ll win, they’re just throwing away a vote for Harris. Their statement is that they have no issue with another 4 years of Trump because their demands aren’t being met anyway (cough genocide).

You can argue all day about the rationality and lack of utilitarianism, but it won’t change anything.

If MLK were alive, he’d probably vote Democrat because he believes there is a solution in comprise over time, and keeping Republicans out is beneficial to that. (He generally favored the more progressive party).

If Malcolm X were alive, he’d probably be protesting just like the uncommitted group, but choose not to vote if his major demand wasn’t met, because his reasoning would be that any promised or hypothetical solutions would not come to fruition. (The Ballot or the Bullet)

Both have valid reasoning, and it can obviously depend on the situation, but it bugs me that 50 years later people still don’t understand why people choose to vote a certain way.

  • Emgage has been criticized by Muslim organizations, including the U.S. Council of Muslim Organizations, the umbrella organization for Muslim advocacy groups in the US for its ties to groups involved in anti-Muslim and anti-Palestinian activity and which attack elected Muslim lawmakers like Ilhan Omar. After these went unaddressed, the Council severed ties with Emgage.[11][12] Emgage denied the accusations, which it described as a product of “ideological cancel culture”.[13]

A PAC is still a PAC no matter what you name it lol. Ain’t no way Dearborn is going to gladly accept getting screwed if Harris refuses to change her stance.

They didn’t vote for Clinton and she wasn’t even that bad compared to literal genocide.

  • I’m honestly doubtful Trump would make any additional difference considering Biden didn’t do anything to reduce Israel’s insanity. He’d still have to let congress pass the big stuff, and Biden approved every single smaller sale bar holding up one shipment temporarily.

Everyone keeps saying “yeah but Trump would be worse for Gaza” just because he did the whole embassy thing, but this really looks as if it’s maxed out.

Even from a purely utilitarian perspective assuming this is true, I’d rather take my final stand and be wiped out than to be continuously subjected to essentially warcrime torture for the remainder of my life.

Harris already made it clear that her policy with Israel won’t change. Her campaign decided that the amount of votes in this group do not matter (which I completely disagree with), which is why she barred them from talking at the DNC, despite the fact that they were offering to endorse her. She went all in on the AIPAC funding and lobby though.

This is basically their last desperate call to get the DNC to change their minds (probably won’t happen), so I guess I’ll see you all in r------- red Michigan this year.

  • Harris met with the Uncommitted Movement. The Uncommitted Movement endorsed Harris in the speech they released to Mother Jones.

Yeah, and then she denied them from making said speech at the DNC rally.

An endorsement in a speech that never happened is practically moot, even the Mother Jones article makes this abundantly clear. If anything, this could easily backfire and keep the uncommitted movement from voting.

Supporting Israel against Iran doesn’t mean allowing Israel to commit genocide in Gaza.

Unconditionally sending weapons and continuing to give Israel a free pass, even with the antics they play with Iran, is not going to prevent the genocide.

She already commented on the scale of the suffering in Gaza saying it was heartbreaking during the DNC.

Any indication of the past 10 moths, if not the past several decades of relations with Israel, should show you this comment means jack shit. Biden said the same thing multiple times, and it took him 5 months until he quietly admitted Israel might have just possibly used weapons incorrectly and caused innocent deaths by mistake.

Playing up Gaza as a two sided humanitarian crisis, and then blocking anyone on the Palestinian side from talking about it, and then allowing some Israelis to talk about Hamas, is very clear message on her policy. She doesn’t care, she never will.

Even pretending to make it seem like her campaign was interested was just a farce to gain voters and support. This was a massive “fuck you” from the campaign to the uncommitted movement and anyone involved who thought she would change her policy on Israel.

If SE Michigan was smart enough to figure out Hillary was a scumbag, they sure as hell aren’t going to fall for a liar pretending to care about stopping an active genocide. That state is going to end up red this year.

  • Biden failed to get his $15 minimum wage promise but had no issues giving free cash to the rail industry to do nothing, free cash to GM to do nothing, free cash to TSMC & Intel to do nothing, and also free cash to Israel to continue a genocide.

So excuse me when I say that this is a election year scam porkbarrel promise which will magically get stuck in congress or get conveniently halted by a random ass judge.

The only one here I can see happening is the tax credit because it has been done before and because it doesn’t actually involve giving out money.

  • You can often get a Pre Purchase Inspection (PPI) for about $200 from a mechanic that will tell you everything in depth about the health of a car before you actually buy it.

Way too many people out here purchasing cars and then bringing it to a mechanic only to realize they’ve been ripped off or bought an expensive repair bill.

You should do it with any used car you have a strong intention to buy whether it is a private sale or from a lot.

Usually lots will want to negotiate the price first because any used car will have some wear and tear.

But the point is that you’ll know for sure it there’s any critical issues with the vehicle. If it’s a lemon, you can say no and walk away. Don’t think of it as losing $200, think of it as saving several thousand on a broken car.

  • Anyone remember that one Hamas dude who became a very good sniper using an old M1 lol.

Resistance movements still use even older rifles like the Mosin Nagant. Banning the AR-15 isn’t going to accomplish anything of value.

I think a way funnier and better option would be to require marksmanship exams that you have to pass in order to have a license for rifles and shotguns. A hilariously large amount of people would fail to qualify.

And make it expensive so it immediately disuades anyone trying to get a capable firearm quickly.
