Super regional, remember learning 15$ in French class but using $15 everywhere else because I’m an anglophone. Personally, as someone else said, it’s a unit, totally makes sense treating it as such and I do tend to use iso currency codes when talking dollars because I’m Canadian, 40 USD is 54.75 CAD, 40 CAD is 29.23 USD, if I don’t specify that it makes things look way more expensive comparatively.
I actually really like Metro, live tiles are criminally underused and imo it gets a lot of hate becauae of how microsoft pushed it in windows 8, but for a touch interface it’s clean and really nice to use. Loved the sideways laid out apps too on windows phone and windows rt, wp itself was actually really nice to use and I actually kinda miss my lumia 1020
It’s amazing how much our views change with time. My dad was definitely a super early adopter of cable when it became available in our area, if I recall it was 16 Mbps which was unreal to me in 2002. I made do with 5 Mbps in uni and it was totally usable.
But now, I’ve had 1Gbps for years and wow it’s so different, changes your habits too. I don’t hoard installed games as much, I can pull them down in minutes so why keep something installed if I’m not going to use it?
In an alternate timeline I totally should have bought bitcoin when it was memed on and was literally sub pennies. On the other hand, anyone I know with wallets that old either have lost access to them or spent them when they went to a few dollars so likely wouldn’t be any different
It’s also supposed to be an accessible/helpful font for dyslexics.
That’s the boat I’m in, I swapped my laptop from kubuntu to Debian which is solid for me. Server has a lot setup on it that I could move but for now Ubuntu server works, not really feeling the push to change.

I learned on a 1990 corolla, my partner can’t drive standard so when we downsized a few years ago we kept her car. I miss it for the around town trips but I’m not upset to drive automatic when I have to (rarely) commute. I also really liked it for winter driving, definitely felt more in control, that little corolla could plow through snow and ice like it was nothing.
Pretty much everyone on my side of the family learned on standard, drove for a while, but now more or less has a vehicle with automatic.
