I like punk for chopping, rock and pop for sautéing, and folk for baking, but it’s a lot of a lot of different things. As long as it matches the tempo of what I’m doing with my hands it’s all good.
I like American music. Do you like American music? I like American music, too.

No, if anything I sound warmer, because most of what I know is social niceties.
I rarely have time to kill at work. I don’t get paid by the hour, so I need to work to make money. And if there’s no work to do I go home. In the very rare times when I’m waiting on someone else I usually eat, hydrate, or take a smoke break.

I just call them hypercubes, so people don’t think I’m talking about a L’Engle novel.

The preposition one is what I came to say.

I’ve only worked a 9-to-5 once in my life, as a temp. It wasn’t for me. Mostly I’ve been teaching and waiting tables, a little bartending as well. Since my kids entered school, being home at the same time they are has become my highest priority when choosing a job, and yeah, I sacrifice a little income potential and even work longer hours to make that happen, but there’s no substitute for the time I spend with them; that’s my highest good. And they would rather have time with me than more stuff.
What I’m saying is, you gotta do what works for you. There’s always more money to make but time runs out. I’d rather take my kids to the food bank together than pay for groceries without them, y’know? Even better is using that time to volunteer together at the food bank, so they see the importance of taking care of others; and also see that selling labor for cash and spending the cash isn’t the only way to get what you need.

just sayin’
You don’t want to read my personal blog, but it DOES have an RSS feed because I’m not a sociopath.
Yes. I was raised by feminist parents and have always supported equal rights and equal pay, and stood against misogyny and sexism. You’re right go not want to be presumptive, but the answer to that isn’t to shy away from feminism, it’s to listen.
