The deeper you go, you’ll notice its mostly people who hate the first comment that drill down to find others they agree with.

People like you are extremely uncomfortable with the reality of your words. Its not “in someone’s head” when they make an observation about you that you don’t like. If you don’t want to be a liberal, you should consider more deeply why you advocate for liberalism in how you express your understanding of the world.

Donald Trump’s death does not need to undo a system to still have value. His personality is extremely effective at absorbing the middle class, white, liberal imagination of the violence this system must inflict to survive. So far, he hasn’t even done anything that exceptional relative to hundreds of years of US imperialism. Except, because liberals, like you, are primed to think of this system as perfect bar the few nasty bad actors, they are satisfied with his exceptionally loud delivery of this violence as an explanation for why the violence is happening. Even if it’s just for justice for those his administration is responsible for killing and harming, it would be valuable.

Its because most “leftists” are white liberals who learned about socialist theory through YouTube or Twitter. Lemmy is a very liberal site, but because it’s sitting next to social media platforms that literally suck up the ground water to promote fascism, liberals mistake it as something more. What socialists or anarchists there are on here also tend to be of the STEM variety that does not read theory and therefore is less equipped to deal with appropriated language.

I just scrolled through the thread quickly and only really saw correct criticism of Newsoms neoliberal policies and conservative rhetoric and liberals who don’t want to admit that these attributes are aligned with liberalism. Straight up, it would be mortally dangerous for federal US reps to bailout tech. The industry is wildly unpopular, has openly threatened labourers with forced redundancy, polluted and\or poisoned vulnerable communities, and houses some of the most famous billionaires in the country. This is not an industry that thousands of blue-collar workers depend on for wages and produces products that people need to survive. Also, the US state is subject to the most open resistance and condemnation it has had since the Civil Rights Era (even privileged groups find the erasure of wealth disparity appealing now too).

Dude, you can’t be satisfied by bites of moral superiority, it isn’t useful to you. Class solidarity doesn’t mean that they have solidarity with you because they strive for unity or whatever, it means that they have solidarity with people in the same socioeconomic class as themselves. Yes, they are self-interested and they exclude people who are not in their class from positions of power within the state. They correctly identify that most Americans have been neglected functional knowledge on how their system works – both literally as in the state and philosophically/sociologically as in how ideas work and why certain people subscribe to certain values – and make use of a “two-party” system to occlude their common interest in capital and hegemony. Democrats and Republicans do not differ on fundamental principles of how society should work, and they share those principles with anyone alive who hoards wealth because they all are in a class that is constructed through wealth hoarding, that’s the solidarity.

That someone can work for either party without missing a step demonstrates that there is not a fundamental difference between the two in a very funny way.

I mean, that’s a very good demonstration on the common values of these supposedly different groups. Their class solidarity is strong.
