Distrotube hits hard. I remember the video showing everyone his collection of increasingly larger guns was the checkout moment for me. Even saying one of them was great for kids. As a non American maybe I just don’t get it.

Gross. I heard he lost a hell of a lot of money on crypto and hookers, so that checks out.
Boogie2988. I thought he seemed like a reasonable, unbiased person when I was watching around 2016. Kind of just moved on with my life after realising he was just following YouTube drama.
Have checked him out in the last year or so and it’s not looking good for him. The really sad thing is that he could have just taken his money and lived a chill life, but he seems to want a spotlight and to feel important even if it’s because people are shaming him for being a washed up b list youtuber.
It’s hard to get an apprenticeship to become one in Australia after your mid twenties. I’ve heard it’s because your pay has to be a fair bit higher than the kids just out of school, so they’d rather train a teenager.
Can second the comment about tutorials. It’s amazing how your very very specific problem has a great tutorial, with the worst possible audio, that is perfectly solved by some random dude in his bedroom in India.

I think there’s an obsidian extension that allows you to basically save the notes in a github repository, making it cloud based kind of.
I think in general he leans more left than he lets on if that’s what you mean.
His podcast when his wife is on (It annoys me that people would find this to be relevant credentials, but she’s a POC) shows that he has a pretty healthy world view where he talks crap a lot, but is happy to be told he’s an idiot as well, at least by her.
People who gain/have a lot of wealth over their life do tend to want to lock that wealth in by being Conservative I think. Wouldn’t want to shake things up!
Veritasium is up there as one of the best creators on the platform, really good at generating interesting topics, even when talking about the mundane.
Steve mould not doing location filming maybe could be a reason. I think he scratches that itch talking about interesting physics phenomena that Tom had though.
I’m currentlyI not powerful enough for this, but probably will attempt it for fun one day. On OPENSUSE Tumbleweed atm.
Ah yeah that makes sense. So many tech communities here I’ve noticed. Always put it down to tech people being more willing/able/knowledgable to move to something better!
Steve Mould, Veritasium?
Hmm I’ve never thought about it that way. Definitely seems like we’d be better off not getting taxed by employers throughout the year, as then it can offset mortgages etc before paying up.
Yeah it is not a decision to be taken lightly! Very rewarding, but one of the hardest things you’ll do.
Why? Seems to me paying debts early is good advice, less hassle dealing with those loan sharks.
I work from home too. While it’s so so good, being so close to the family does mean I’m working full time + helping out with the family…
Was going to say this. The work week is easier than weekends.
That’s a bummer, I still watch him from time to time but accept it as factual. Didn’t think I needed to fact check him.
