That family is plagued by fate. Ts ts. One could think it’s karma.
Polymath. Bad in math. Collecting mechanical calculators, likes subtractive manufacturing of wooden implements. Eat the rich. Don’t forget the fiber, danger of constipation. Learn. Get people to learn. By all means. All!

I’m absolutely loving it! Doodeling around to make your workshop nicer / more practicable / weirder is the best, isn’t it?!
Obviously. I don’t even wanna know what his sick bastard of father did to him. Don’t get me wrong, no empathy here, just emphasising that some shit must have happened down the line. His parents weren’t mentally same either.

That’s funny, that’s exactly the method I stored my cdRoms back in the day.
What do you mean “no other scifi series”? Muad’Dib Muad’Dib Muad’Dib
Fun fact: in German it’s “Mahagoni”
The trick is: use YouTube differently. Ignore the trash, only watch and share the good stuff. After that, watch what it does to your algorithm. You’ll discover cool shit.
Got something similar, I tested Teflon tape, it’s actually dissolving, but I got (don’t ask me where I got it from) thin paper tape, I do one layer over the threads, still gotta replace it every 3 or 4 times I open the lid - whatever, works so far for me. Just test some stuff, I’d recommend. Stay away from plastic tape, it could dissolve. Maybe a drop of oil on the threads? I’ll try it, it came into my mind right now.
It was never cheaper here in Germany, if you want decent hobbyist machines: band saw 1000eur, circular hand saw 500 to 700 bucks (not Akku), everything less is trash, good tools begin at the double, I got a mate in Spain, buying machines there, Euro too, but a third the price. I would’ve paid almost 2000 EUR for a decent small portable circular table saw here, bigger ones start at 8k. No inflation, just imaginary prices because too many idiots are paying up. There’s always another way, nevermind how hard the greedy ones try.
Depends on what you wanna do, hobby some 3x4s together or building a hardwood dresser. From experience, the quarter mm you are over on one end is a not fitting drawer on the other. Wood is forgiving, alright, but the real fun begins when it’s made precisely.
So much nicer than Amazon or Ikea. Bah, fuck that crap, do anything yourself. I’m in the process of making a sofa because they’re painfully expensive or total crap here, learning to sew and anything about upholstery foam. Free yourself from the corporate tyranny & make it all yourself!
Sadly all “drinks” are made primarily from water. Otherwise they were called “chews”. You living in the US of A by any chance? Unrelated question.
The chance that a mixed up 52 card deck was in that combination is pretty slim too. Probability is roughly an 8 with 67 zeros to 1. And don’t hope for that flush draw, kid, it’s even more unlikely.
My mother in law died after long sickness and she kinda connected phones, not the best, not the most expensive, but now I’m stuck with 8 phones, all ok for me, this one has that, and that one has this, I’m very confused what I should do, but on principle I’ll never to buy a phones for 1300 € plus, that’s about what a decent one would cost me these days, nope, never. Now I’m up to rooting My collection of Chinese spying apparati, yeah! I WILL SURVIVE THIS! Cheaply!
Btw I use arch. Actually Void Linux with bspwm, but I wanted too say it one time. And windows on the gaming machine.
Curta’s are a special case, I’m not a watchmaker and I wouldn’t dare to try at this point in my skill progress, but for example I had some sprocket wheel ones for which I made new cogwheels, pouring rain with powder in it or casting it in brass and filing it down. But Curta’s - I don’t know. Maybe if it’s the last chance, but what kind of insane SOB brakes a curta? :)
Collecting & restoring mechanical calculators, slide rules and old electronic calcs. I sucked hard at math in school btw. Today I love it. Weird life, eh?
