Relying on the goodwill of republicans to make an exception seems like a poor strategy. This is an unforced error that could have been avoided.
I mod a worryingly growing list of communities. Ask away if you have any questions or issues with any of the communities.
I also run the hobby and nerd interest website scratch-that.org.

Did the DNC just forget this when scheduling their convention?
Looks like the standard has already been re-affirmed in other cases as incitement (knowing and intentional words to imminently cause lawless action) in order for a lawsuit to succeed.
The Louisiana Supreme Court did find that first responders (police, fire,EMT, etc) are indeed allowed to sue. There was some question of if they were disqualified from suing under the theory that getting attacked in a riot is just a job hazard for them. Vox might have taken offense to that for some reason.
This is all civil too, so no jail time or charges, just a legal fight about standards for culpability for the purposes of a civil case.
I was pleasantly surprised to see this top comment digging into the case. I was very confused by the SCOTUSBLOG link and dug around on my own wondering why everything was from 2020 at first, then going back to the article and feeling like it was really off the rails.
Huh? You can easily outrun them.
It is finger food. I just find the bowl smaller and more convenient than a plate.
Sliced mozzarella (or whatever) cheese in a bowl, and some sandwich meat. Served cold.
You know what would be a cool Star Wars game mechanic? Lightsaber fights where endurance was the main currency. Taking swings, holding blocks, everything chipping away until the less efficient player’s character was exhausted and slow enough for a killing strike.
Paper thin health, ideally location based. A strike to the chest, head or neck basically just ends it instantly.

An isometric or similar perspective CRPG with turn based combat, and the freedom to build characters and think up alternate ways to complete quests that is comparable to the original Fallout games.
Set in a slick scifi space opera, adventure universe. Where the player character controls their own ship and can fly from place to place, while also upgrading the ship and participating in space battles (also turn based). Lots of main planets to explore with bespoke elements, but also a good amount of tasteful procedural generation of minor planets to help fill out the game world.
A few games come close, but nothing quite gives me Classic Fallout + Mass Effect + No Man’s Sky that I want.
I think the problem is I’m a Lemmy.world account. I don’t see nothing, I see a page saying “community can’t be found”.
I know Lemmy.world was defederated from sh.itjustworks at one point, but they’ve refederated so I should be able to see it. But it’s got to be something related to the different servers talking.
I haven’t been able to see SimpsonsShitposting for a while. I can see other sh.itjustworks communities but I don’t know if that one is gone or specifically defederated from Lemmy.world or something?
I don’t have much to offer for DND content but I will subscribe.
Neat. Subscribed to a few of these now.
I mod the 40k community, so obviously that one.
Would be cool if Oldhammer, Battletech, and the general tabletop minis communities got some traction.
I’m trying very hard to revive the militaryporn community.
And Risa is great (usually) but it doesn’t need my help to be popular
If you’re the kind of person who counts Die Hard as a Christmas movie, I seriously suggest you watch The Long Kiss Goodnight as a contender. Geena Davis and Samuel L. Jackson co-starring in a Christmas flavored spy adventure roadtrip.
Here’s a minute and a half to make my point.
Oldboy wins right?
I have a number of people who I text nearly daily. With many of them it is often just wordless sharing of meme pictures but it keeps the contact fresh if either of us want to actually talk or meet up.
In the cases of the ones I want to keep the most we have exchanged backup numbers of family members, which we never use, but are there if one person suddenly stops texting for a long time.
Chechil, it’s like a salty, chewier, briny version of western string cheese.
