This probably works better with a New Zealand accent… which I don’t have, but like to imitate when I’m drunk.

How is disabling (or deleting) an account going to help?
I found it easy to stop participating on Reddit. Every time I went to post I was reminded that all I’m doing is adding value to some piece of shit shareholder who actively wants me gone because I don’t mindlessly scroll the front page (old.reddit and adblock). Why do anything on there when it’s just to make someone else rich?
And Reddit made it easy for me to not even look when I’m on mobile by killing third party apps. If I can’t RiF then I choose no Reddit at all.
I get wanting to delete old accounts
They didn’t ask that (which, btw, is under settings -> delete account), they asked to disable it.
At the risk of sounding like a Facebook group, this isn’t an airport… you don’t need to announce departure. Just leave. Voila. Done.
Just stop using it? Eesh. No need for the drama, just walk away.
It’s an eastern state of Australia

Is Pornhub a search engine? Cause my queries on there would probably raise some eyebrows.
The Wheel Of Time, by Robert Jordan
The entire series, start to finish, repeatedly. I’ve read it at least a dozen times since the late 90s when I first discovered it. I’d read the entire series over again whenever a new book in the series was released so the first few books I’ve read far more frequently.
Then the TV show came out and now I can’t bring myself to look at it ever again.
Seriously, who on earth uses facebook?
Me? I know it’s the current hotness to not be on there, but I don’t get sites like Instagram / TickTock / Snapchat where its just reacting to photos and images. I want words dammit.
If you say so! Place was the same from coast to coast from our outsiders perspective.
let’s not forget that America is a big, diverse country
We just did a 5 week trip in the US which was LA, drive to Vegas, fly to NYC, then drive 5000k to the middle of Texas, and man… I keep hearing about all this diversity but that joint is the same all over. Having some mountains in the background instead of a desert, and having a majority RAM 2500s instead of majority Teslas is not the “diversity” I’d been led to believe existed. It’s all just chain stores, tipping, and bad coffee anywhere you go.
Since you mentioned Thunderbird, I assume you are on a very cheap ISP or self host mail system with poor filtering.
Crikey, that’s one heck of an assumption. Based on that comment, I’m going to assume you use an iPhone. Since we’re doing that.
I feel like there’s an opportunity to combine these things.
I found it many years ago. 15-20ish? I have no idea where I found it, but I’ve not seen it used anywhere else so I kind of just keep using it.
Don’t really know what I bother since I use a client that doesn’t display profile pictures anyway.
My other avatar I use gets me banned on most forums because apparently a clip from “nuts in the ass” is not suitable for public display anymore. It’s political correctness gone mad tbh.
Because I don’t want people seeing my terrible code

Once upon a time, Swype / FlexT9 / whatever other names it’s had on Android used to have an option to bring up a virtual D pad in the keyboard area. It was really easy to swap to as well, and being able to flip over to a functional set of arrow keys (as well as select, copy, paste, etc) made text editing so much easier.
Like all things I used to enjoy about Android, it got removed in the name of copying Apples simplicity.
We set the AC for 18°C heating in winter, and 23° cooling in summer. I’m happy in 18-23 temperatures, doesn’t need to be the same temp year around.
18 when it’s 10ish outside feels nice and toasty, and be 23 when it’s 35ish outside feels nice and cool.
I know a few people who have no reason NOT to learn to drive, but just don’t and instead mooch off everyone else.
My folks had a falling out with a couple they’d been friends with for ages because they refused to get their licence… But then expected them to come and pick them up from the train station when they were invited to dinner, spent most of the night telling everyone how smart they are for not having a car, and then expecting a lift back to the train station. Having just spent a couple of hours banging on about how much financially better off they were, I saw it as essentially stealing to then demand someone else use their asset and running costs to carry them around for free.
My sister in law finally got her licence at 30-something after a couple of decades constantly harassing family members for a ride.
