I’m talking about the zerotier’s app
zerotier is open source and free with up to 25 nodes per network, and supports custom ip assignments (in custom ranges, with option to have multiple subnets per network), custom dhcp, managed dns, and custom, multiple managed routes (with option to point to a custom gateway), and traffic flow rules.
for example here are the rules i have set up for my “gaming” network that i use to play LAN games with my friends (only allows ipv4, arp and ipv6 traffic and prevents clients from self-assigning ip addresses)
route settings page:
my “personal” network (which just links all of my personal devices together) exists in 172.16.0.0/24 and auto-assigns ipv4 addresses in 172.16.0.101-172.16.0.199 range using dhcp (but i have configured custom ip addresses for each device anyway), and ipv6 is auto-assigned using RFC4196.
huh i thought zerotier is more popular.
i love it but their android app sucks. hasn’t received a single large update since android 5 and constantly keeps disconnecting
iirc they actually started adding these as mini games after getting sued for false advertising
btw why did you choose tailscale over zerotier
they ignore all requets.
i have a couple of pp.ua domains, and there’s no limit on them (you cant register more than 3 per month)
but unfortumately one of the requirements is that you can’t hide phone number and address from WHOIS records and you must provide them your phone number
admin is nice. felt cozy when i first loaded it up
btw I’ve got a (free) domain: beeg.pp.ua and an old craptop, so I’m thinking about self-hosting my instance
people don’t use it for some reason ¯_(ツ)_/¯
all third party clients display markdown images fully inline, all official clients either require a click or show a small thumbnail
tbf reddit also has this issue
tbf reddit also allows that with markdown
store it in tpm
a good ol’ centipede. they like crawling out of drains and usually completely harmless (they can bite afaik, but never happened to me, even though i liked to rip their legs off as a kid for some reason… also depends on the species)
this one is super chonky tho and has less legs then regular ones I’ve seen before… probably American one /s
Galaxy a52s (that s is important!), a decent phone.
has 5g/wifi6, spapdragon cpu, 120hz oled display, a headphone jack and an sd card slot (unfortunately it’s combined with sim) all in a waterproof package (and battery that lasts for 7-8 hour sot with everything on).
got it on sale for ~275$ and i love it.
won’t bother upgrading to anything but flagships for a long time.
Running stock debloated rom atm, but may switch to something like pixel experience (support is already running out; it’s just 3 years, not 5 like on newer models)
I’m using Firefox Beta with tons of extensions.
lol uncapped 500mbps fiber (actual fiber directly to your house) connection is 10-12$/month in Ukraine
cross domain e2e is quirky. also mail strange itself cannot be e2e encrypted (obviously) so while email body is probably encrypted with password or srh derived from your password (not even sure about that would require client side js in the web client), the metadata is probably still stored unencrypted.
proton mail is pretty decent.
not the most private solution but it’s still better
another one:
you land on an alien planet, exterminate the native wildlife, do not elaborate, leave
tbf Samsung has a decent-ish ecosystem as well…
as long as all your devices are Samsung ones
there’s stuff like automatic earbud switching, dragging files between devices, “continue work on other device”, Samsung seamless codec for audio etc
