Good. Do things like this at every chance. Normalcy is for loosers that this point.

The consultants running the campaign measure success in dollars raised. That means they only messaged those politically engaged.
Look, I’m not asking them to fall in their swords. I’m just asking that they don’t fly out to Maro Lago to say he’s normal actually.
These were the guys that told Biden not to step out of the race. These people also claimed Trump was fascist at one point. What changed? Did they ever have spines?
Fred Hampton spent more time building coalitions then he did calling his own cowardly.
How do we gum up the works?
Seriously good read on what to do next: https://wagingnonviolence.org/2024/11/10-things-to-do-if-trump-wins/
The fascist power structure is unjust and so it is like an upsidedown pyramid being propped up by pillars: people who do the actual work are the pillars. This pyramid topples when those pillars are removed. This can be a workers’ strike in a certain sector (example given was the eastern shoremen refusing to load weapons for a war).
I’m also struck by how the article says to handle fear. We need to act as community and flip the script on their fear tactics.
The author of the article also has an interesting interview with Sam Seder where they talk about more historical examples: https://youtu.be/YLBM2SEL6Rc
Those of us who are terminally online should definitely checking sources, but I don’t think that is practical for those working two shifts and taking care of a family.
How do you address the material conditions of people who reject addressing the material conditions if it also helps someone who isn’t them.
I think the sort of help you’re talking about is of political policy (ie free lunches at schools). I am speaking of direct action by volunteers (ie running a community pantry). When you engage in the community, conversations happen and that is when you can challenge biases in a non-confrontational setting.
If you cannot find solidarity in the masses then what is it you’re looking for? A Vanguard party to reeducate the masses?
only way to fix the media is to fix the voters.
This narrative serves the capitalist class and cannot be proven. You don’t “fix” voters, you create solidarity by dealing with their material conditions (engage in mutual aid).
We can blame voters or fix our media landscape. You can do both, but we need to do the latter to have a functioning democracy.
You wouldn’t know it looking at his approval rating…
If Hillary and Cheney has anything to teach us, they roll out the disgraced politicians every 4 years to demoralize the base.
Maybe, but it’s all academic if we don’t have the power to get him nominated. I am reminded of a quip: “We elect people without power and we’re surprised that they’re powerless to change things”. That is the best case scenario if the DNC had somehow nominated Bernie. We need to build power, no matter what our strategy or objective. Highly recommend reading this over doom posting: https://wagingnonviolence.org/2024/11/10-things-to-do-if-trump-wins/
Underated article. Do not surrender political space, find community, trust yourself, make strange alliances.
I think they mean voting isn’t enough and we all need to shit post harder
Sounds like a self-fulfilling prophecy that ends with the least resourced groups dead. Good thing the capitalists are famously the least-strapped chuds around.
I don’t know many things but the voters are obviously to blame. We drew 100 different trolley problems and told them democracy and women’s rights were on the line. We even had Bill Clinton logically explain that Palestinians were human shields. We even had better policy even though most voters didn’t know it. I can only conclude voters are selfish and that’s why they vote against their own interests.
When they say it’s about race, it’s about class. When they say it is about class, it’s about gender. And when they say it’s out gender, it’s about race.
Or at least that’s how it feels sometimes.
They could have moved to Canada or Europe with their level of privilege, but they bent the knee instead. It’s a matter of keeping that privilege for them.
