I don’t think the Republican party has any hope to heal. The remaining sane ones are old white guys who are just trying to desperately cling to power for last years of their life, gripping the reins of a rampaging bull just long enough for them to find their exit point. Trump is arguably the endpoint of the modern Republican party, the party that turned Fox News into a propoganda machine, turned evangelical Christianity into a political party, the one that has specifically courted racists, bigots and homophobes for every year that I’ve been alive. He’s the ultimate personification of Republican hate, and as the mask falls off more and more Republicans, it seems that the only thing the party stands for is hate.

I’m glad you’re making the rational choice and voting for Biden, but unfortunately I think you’ll have to keep making that choice. The Republican Party is going to keep running Trump until he dies.
