It’s the core of the criminal mind-set: That somebody else should non-consensually pay the price for the criminal’s actions.
It wouldn’t stop Americans either I daresay; it would “just” criminalize expressing it.

2nd seems to ironically be a distant memory for them, all of sudden, and now they’re out to kill the 1st.
