As part of an investigation into the origins of Covid-19, Paul has called on Fauci to testify on the pandemic before the committee Wednesday. The Kentucky Republican has long peddled the theory that the virus came from a leak at a lab in Wuhan, China, accusing Fauci and other government officials of misleading the public about its source — claims Fauci has denied.
In conservative circles they’re talking about the diary as if it’s a smoking gun exposing Fauci as some kind of manipulator who covered up the lab origin conspiracy.
Yeah, nothing about the reasons why that conspiracy theory was not only unsupported by facts, but contradicted by the evidence. There are measurable differences between lab-grown viruses and those in a human or animal host population.
