It’s the way healthcare functions that makes a lot of them (not all) this way. When you spend all day seeing how the place you work, which is supposed to be for healing people, bend it’s mission for profit, it can break your trust in the system. In some ways it can just be the nature of the work itself.
My brother worked as an orderly for a decade. After seeing the completely scooped clean thoracic cavity of an 18 year old organ doner (she ODed) he never really got over how she was just Meat for harvesting. I don’t even think he realizes how different he’s been since he had that job.
