Because limiting voting to just one day, and in-person only, tilts in favor of people who are: 1) retired, and therefore older, and therefore more conservative on average, or 2) have more workplace freedom to leave to vote, which skews wealthy, and therefore conservative

And Paxton was outvoted on election day, which usually sees stronger Republican turnout, in what used to be a red bastion.
