I have a couple of concerns with this.

The first being if some states are going to try to use this against any kids charged with being child sex offenders, like several states have done with teenagers who have sex with each other (or have nude pictures of each other).

An additional concern is obviously conservatives trying to use this against trans people and drag queens, whom they are already trying to define as sex offenders just for existing in public.

Another concern or just question is…is this meant to be a deterrent? And is it even effective in that? For a lot of child sex offenders, a major component of the pleasure derived is from having power over the child in question. Removing their genitals wouldn’t necessarily change that? It’s possible it may even have them turn more to violence toward children as their outlet.

I’m just wondering on the effectiveness of this method. Is there any evidence at all or is this being done on an emotional whim?

Do you mean the ICC or the ICJ? The ICJ is a part of the UN, so yes, the US is connected to that decision.

But the ICC is an independent organization connected to a separate treaty called the Rome Statute. The US is one of a small number of (usually terrible) countries that haven’t signed it.

I knew about that, but that action was taken a couple of days ago before the Rafah attack started. I remember the news articles about it then. Hopefully the above indicates this stoppage will be true for any and all weapons shipments, not just those bombs.

So, since they’re attacking Rafah right now, that means you’re going to stop giving them weapons right now, right? Right?

I mean, it’s better than them using land lines like they used to. And, if they did it properly, then their calls should have caller ID saying it’s the polling service. Also, they should leave a message to get called back.

Except this is about the primary. How is not voting for him in the primary matter? Honestly, the fact that the Democrat party in places like Florida just got rid of the primary so none of the challengers could be voted for is…dumb to me.

I might hate most of the other people running, since they’re largely anti-vaccine pseudoscience conspiracy types, but people should still be allowed to vote in the primary.

I just went and checked some studies on the matter. 70% of fertilized eggs fail to go to further embryonic stages and 85% of those are because of uterine wall implantation complications. So, the answer is right in between us, it’s 60%.

Probably even higher, closer to 70%, of the time.

It’s a stalemate, largely. While Russia was massively on the backfoot earlier in the year, they mined massive swaths of eastern Ukraine before partially retreating.

Which makes it unlikely for Russia to actually have any future forward progress, but it also stymies Ukraine from doing the same except extremely slowly. There’s still been several victories for Ukraine over the past few months, but they haven’t changed the fighting area much.

It’s largely a war of attrition to wear down Russia now, who has been having more and more internal issues as time goes on.

The issue with that is that Republicans hold an even worse position on genocide in multiple ways and would have been gunning for not only Israel killing all Palestinians, but ejecting all Muslims from the US as well. Which they will also totally do if they win the election.

There has to be a middle ground response here. Yes, ban people saying “death to Jews” and committing violence and other attacks on Jewish people.

But banning any support for Palestine, which isn’t Hamas, is dumb.
