    Fuck yeah! UNION STRONG!

Looking up the pay rates of these dock workers and they get paid less than I do as a Teamster.

All the bullshit I overhear says they are all millionaires lmao. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Pay for longshoremen is based on their years of experience. Under the ILA’s former contract with USMX, which expired on Monday, starting pay for dockworkers was $20 per hour. That rose to $24.75 per hour after two years on the job and to $31.90 after three years, topping out at $39 for workers with at least six years of service.

Maybe that’s with overtime or something. ILA top out at $39/hour.

The contract they want would be $69/hour after three years. That’s about $144,000/year.

I clearly should not have gone to college.

No, I think it’s better if most white-collar jobs make less than blue-collar jobs. Someone needs to line the pockets of the c-suite. That will make less people go to college and less people aspire to bullshit jobs that don’t do anything. Like the world needs another app developer, full stack developer, or middle manager. I think we’re all set with that.

That’s definitely going to be the overall average once you include about 4 hours of overtime
