President Donald Trump said Wednesday that he expects construction of the "Triumphal Arch" he wants to build in Washington, D.C. to begin "sometime in the next two months."
Or will the American state protect its dictator after the fact too??
“In order for the country to heal after such a divisive President. I am pardoning President Donald Trump and his entire adminstration. All projects started by President Bonald Trump will be finished, This is the only way we can come together as a country.”
Reconciliation and forgiveness can be powerful tools for a country to move on. However, there is there is the improper way and there are more effective ways to for a country to heal.
Truth commissions can be an effective way to for a country to move forward. People have to be held accountable, there has to be fact finding, a plan to move forward, and genuine good faith to particpate.
Perhaps. But the US is allergic to reparations for slavery, has never done a commission on the lingering effects of slavery, or the experience of being Black in America. why would they do one for electing someone twice who turned out to be dictator and did a coup??
That I agree with. The US deathly allergic to any introspection. My theory is that “American exceptionalism” prevents any introspection.
“We’re America! We’re prefect!” thinking just lets the rot the fester. The only way to be a better country to is confront, talk, and learn from dark chapters.

Unfortunately probably this. And that leaves the door open for an even worse Trump someday.
