I have a friend who is getting this type of therapy soon! Really cool stuff, but hope none of us have to go through it.

Ima use when they finally figure it out, the cure will only be available to the wealthy. Because someone has to pay for 40+ years of research.

Mayhaps, it was invented in 90s in South america. Notice the first person successfully treated was a child, not a famous person. It’s all patented for the public, so it will be hard to gatekeep. The real problem is that the treatment currently requires a small army of lab technicians and a ton of manual labor. That’s the real obstacle. It’s labor intensive and advancements are on the automation and streamlining of the treatment. Unfortunately it will never be truly cheap. But at least the technology is open and freely available to use for anyone.

It’s cancer treatment, it’s always getting better, but it’s often too little too late for your loved one. It’s something you have to accept going in. My mom would’ve had better odds today than when she died, but back then her odds were way better than years prior, and it’s still pretty bad odds today. We as a species just have to keep fighting and pushing forward because even when it’s too late for someone we loved, it can still come in time to save someone else. And one of those someone elses may also be a loved one.

sorry if it wasn’t clear but i was only commenting about the sloppy grammar/word-choice of the quoted researcher and/or lack of grammar editing by the journalist.

i have no comment about cancer treatment.
