Because if a Dem takes office again they don’t want to get booted out too. It’s smarter business to guarantee coverage all around than risk losing access for 4+ years. Also there’s nothing to say that THEY wouldn’t get the boot at some point too.

It’s not an ignorant question. It’s a totally understandable question to have. This isn’t the first time they’ve done something like this in solidarity with other networks. Though there’s no one at the top of Fox making official statements I believe, the majority of people familiar with the topic seem to think Fox knows it won’t be only Rs running things forever and are trying to toe the line so they don’t get booted completely the next time a D is back in office. I don’t know if I really believe that because it’s not like Fox viewers would watch something else with better coverage, but it’s the most plausible explanation that I’ve seen posed.
I mean that’s a logical thought process, but it’s also one they don’t apply anywhere else…
They are indeed a propaganda machine, but they do operate independently. They’re cunning enough to know that arbitrarily banning outlets from the press pool is just too damaging to the press as a whole for them to support. They have to maintain some semblance of real news content and “integrity” in order to be able to run their “entertainment” propaganda that masquerades as news.
It is totally appropriate that our special little pervert boy donald gets to throw another tantrum. We enable that here but only for him. Because he’s our special little boy.
