When Mamdani put the tax on second homes, everybody predicted that the wealthy would all move out, and it didn’t happen. The wealthy like where they live, that’s why they live there. If they wanted to go somewhere else, they already would have. They can threaten to move to Texas or Florida or Louisiana, or Alabama, or some other state that will give them whatever they want, but it still won’t be California. They want to live in California.
Besides, we’ll just chase the Sociopathic Oligarchs around from state to state, passing laws, until we finally pass a NATIONAL law, and then they’ll have to deal with both state and federal taxes.
They’ll pay the tax, and bitch about it, like they bitch about everything, but they’ll stay put.
