A fun game to play right now is to try to hit any of your regularly visited sites and see which ones are down. 😂

7·6 months agoI don’t think that’s the case because that clown always looks like that. Since I became aware of him at the start of this administration, every single picture I’ve seen of him has that stupid l look on his face.
Those are lunchboxes. I see how one might make that mistake, given their size relative to the kids. Either the lunxhboxes are comically large or the kids are comically small.

11·8 months agoI suspect it probably would. Though I haven’t looked too deeply into it myself, I’ve heard of browser extensions you can get to force 1080p from Netflix, so maybe that’s what they’re doing.

51·8 months agoWith Netflix in a browser, you can bring up your streaming stats in the browser window as you’re watching something by pressing Ctrl + Shift+ Alt + D. It’ll give you several bits of information as an overlay, including what resolution the video is playing at. Next time you stream from them, give it a shot and see if you get anything above 720p. I know I never have and if you search online, you’ll find others with the same experience. In fact, I think Netflix might actually have this on a FAQ page somewhere…
Found it! https://help.netflix.com/en/node/30081
Scroll down to the OS selection and you can see what resolutions are supported by which browsers on Linux. Turns out Opera will give you 1080p for some reason, but the rest are capped at 720p.

169·8 months agoMight wanna take your own advice. For example, instead of making a drive by shit post, you could have done what another commenter did and actually explain why people are on board with this guy. That person’s comment had me reconsider my position. Your comment just makes you look like an ass.

1722·8 months agoI really don’t get how so many people here are so happy that a Nazi is using Linux and doesn’t like Google anymore. That’s not the kind of clown I’d want representing or being a spokesperson for my interests and it’s really making me second guess the people here.
Edit: @nasi_goreng@lemmy.zip 's comment has provided info I didn’t have, and recontextualizes the attitudes here I wasn’t understanding, so now I get why there’s support for this.

What was your secret to get it working? I’ve been trying to get it running for 2 weeks following the official guide. I’m able to create an admin user via the CLI, but when I try to go to any of the subdomains I’ve created, I either get a 404 or the TLS handshake fails to complete. The people behind ESS are very clear that they do not offer any support and I haven’t been able to find an answer to this problem anywhere.
