The whole “known for etiquette” thing is a pretty modern development. There was a time when classical concerts could devolve into all-out brawls because the audience thought the music had too many controversial chords in it.

It’s really telling that this disingenuous, petulant fuck thinks teaching young men about concepts like consent, respect, and empathy is “suppressing every masculine urge.” Y’know, because real “manly men” are unable to control their tempers, constantly worry about whether their performative masculinity is enough that nobody will think they’re gay, and blame society for empowering women to avoid relationships with abusers.

People need to feel empowered to actually rebel.
The louder and louder the vocal discontent grows, the harder the regime cracks down. The harder they crack down, the angrier people get, and the louder they get. Volume is equated with numbers. There is a point, and we can’t really predict when, that it will break.
Remember, the US is huge and not very densely populated save for some big cities. We have centuries of propaganda instilled in us that we are powerless beside our vote. As soon as a rebellion occurs, people can expect that their quality of life will drop off a cliff. We have to make sure we are prepared for that, and with most of us living paycheck to paycheck (by design) it’s a lot harder to do.
