“After boarding the vessel and interviewing 26 suspected crew members from the Philippines, one suspected crew member from Portugal, and one from Indonesia, officers confirmed that 27 of the 28 subjects were involved in either the receipt, possession, transportation, distribution, or viewing of CSEM or child pornography,” the agency told The Independent in a statement.

These are border control making arrests based on child pornography crimes. There is no ICE here. Good they are doing their job

Good they are doing their job

No, they are claiming they’re doing their jobs. These people lie about the most trivial of things as well as the most important things.

Lol what? This government calls every undocumented person a pedophile to cover their ass. I wouldn’t put it past Disney hiring pedophiles but we know for a fact the president is one so…

      1. It was ICE agents onboard the ships. Not CBP, not BORTAC— ICE.1
      2. That statement is alleged. This would be a very different story of any were charged according to Title 18 U.S.C. § 2251. The names are not given as that would be explicitly defamatory.

You can stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody without public backlash so long as there is enough reasonable suspicion they’re a pedophile.

This is why this article exists. To reputation launder ICE and portray their victims as all being child rapists.

      Stop supporting ICE.

^1 technically incorrect. Both CBP and ICE were present.^

The title says ICE but the article body says:

U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents stormed Disney’s Magic cruise ship earlier

Regardless there is nothing in the article suggesting they were being detained because of being illegal immigrants.

If they are illegal immigrants why bother making fake accusations when they could make real accusations and still be able to deport them? they’ve already deported thousands of immigrants sometimes arresting them from court heating. they don’t need to make fake excuse.

Because the fake accusations get people like you to defend what would otherwise be indefensible.

Negative public sentiment causes problems and this is extremely unoriginal copoganda.

If ICE cares the tiniest bit about “people like me” they wouldn’t have committed so many crimes in the open with zero consequences. My point which everybody seems to ignore is that: ICE doesn’t care what I or you think and therefore they don’t need to fabricate factious story

I think you have a misunderstanding of what “crime” means.

An accusation of a crime does not make that crime a reality. Interestingly CBP defines “child” as an unmarried person under twenty-one years of age 1

The concentration camps, child abduction+trafficking, forced sterilizations and murders perpetuated by the DHS (not just ICE but the CBP “good guys” as well) have all been repeatedly, and emphatically adjucated as being legal. Thus making them not crimes either.

There are zero consequences because they aren’t crimes.

The reputation laundering is important in making sure there isn’t a build up of pressure which could result in their goals, mission and methods becoming crimes.

^1 Terrible example and incredibly unrealistic, but I’m using it demonstrate weird legal contradictions and how the law™ can be twisted when used outside of formal contexts^

And yet they literally continue to do so both in court and in public.

Because they DO care, regardless of what you say. Their entire shtick is reliant on people NOT caring. Not that I’m agreeing or disagreeing with you or the other commenter on this specific case but thinking theyre immune to public response is wrong.

I’m sorry, immigrants to where exactly?

Do you know what the word means, or as long as they’re brown it doesn’t matter?
