Stars and Stripes has never really been independent. It’s the US propaganda factory for active troops. Their reporters lied to deflate US deaths and inflate Vietnamese deaths during the Vietnam War.
Somehow I guess that wasn’t enough control for fascists. I’m sure they’ll stop now though, they probably have enough control to feel safe
