I’m old enough to remember the Conservative talking point: “papers please” - the fight to the death to have the right to move within the nation without being required to identify yourself no matter how you travel.
How did they all get tricked into rabidly supporting the opposite?
Because conservatives have always been entirely full of shit.
I had to laugh when I saw that my company has “displaying a Confederate flag” as an example of harassment in the training, and obviously won’t be tolerated. And I bet any claims of “heritage” will be treated with the derision it deserves as they get reprimanded/fired.
I chuckled because I know so many cons have been trying to give that traitorous flag of terrorists a pass for years. Not to mention Murc’s Law Media asshats.
But I also winced, because I bet anything some little Eichmann tattle-tale is itching to take that to donnie and friends as an example of “DEI” that needs to be crushed at corporations.
Last month, the Transportation Department told National Public Radio that liberals believe “that everyone should ride a bike to their shoebox-sized apartment to eat crickets to achieve a phony climate agenda.”

This is the same bullshit talking point these assholes all lifted from WEF talks or whatever and claim that this is the “globalist agenda” - get everyone into the city and take away their precious cars, their Kentucky Bluegrass yards and unlimited burned beef on the barbeque and make everyone eat bugs.
Under the warped sensibility of conservatives, it is “common sense” to ruin anything good in the country.
Thing is, that DoT suggestion probably isn’t a bad idea; I know of very few people who actually intend to do it, but the world would be a much better place if we all did.
I’m down for the first two, especially since “shoebox” likely means anything smaller than a giant McMansion to park multiple giant trucks and SUVs, and a bunch of crap no-one needs.
The third feels unnecessary when plants exist, but more power to those that want it.
