Amerikkka was founded by a ruling class of White slavers with an imperialist agenda. There’s a reason they never completed the project of reconstruction. They want genocide of minorities and complete freedom to exploit the rest of the world to concentrate their wealth. They’ve just evolved into a different form with the same core of greed and hatred, in order keep people from revolting. Their agenda remains the same, they just obfuscate it by pacifying the population with religion, distractions, sprinkles of concessions and nationalistic propaganda. People have become complacent and the only way out is mass revolt. But the ruling class has killed the will of the populace to do that. I can’t even remember the names of my neighbors. How do we organize resistance when we’ve become so isolated and depressed? How does a revolutionary spirit arise in a state of such social degeneration? Do I run out in the street to defend my family and others with a rifle, only to be shot down by armed military thugs within 10 seconds, putting all the burden of my kids on my wife, and leave my kids without a father?

They’ve got us cornered, reducing any threat to just bitching online in echo chambers. They’ve locked us into an illusion that we constantly need to grind check to check to survive. No one will realize they don’t have to. We can refuse to do any of it, to work, to pay our bills, to purchase non-essential consumer goods. But a few people doing that just get screwed and end up on the street. It would take a staggering number of millions upon millions of people to do it at once. You have to overwhelm the authorities into a state of helplessness. But it likely won’t happen, people are scared of homelessness and starvation. Not to mention all the miserable people who are deluded into thinking it’s a good thing. They love the direction this country is headed, until it eats them alive.

This is a shit country. It’s Rome 2.0. The only draw it ever had was its economic might built off war, destroying the planet with an insatiable demand for fossil fuels and consumerism, profiting of the suffering of developing nations. The victims of economic imperialism came to appeal to their aggressor, who promised them prosperity at the expense of their sense of community, culture and language, to be looked down upon by the status quo.

The direction this country has headed has exposed everything that is wrong with it. It’s always been there, but now it’s widely out in the open. And sadly, the fascists, the imperialists, the ruling class have won. They fractured our communities, enslaved us to debt in order to survive, distracted us with toys and screens and propagandized us to hell. Our dignity as human being has been reduced to the amount we can produce for the capatalist class, the amount of property we can accumulate, a mere number in our wealth portfolio.

If you can leave do it. I want to so badly. It’s not worth dying because the machinations of these evil capitalists. That’s what they want. I can’t say the capital class doesn’t have influence elsewhere, but nowhere the degree it has here. We’ve been used to a degree of economic privilege (at the expense of the rest of the world) but the juice ain’t worth the squeeze. We’re collapsing economically anyway. You or I will probably end up with nothing if we leave, but that’s the journey of every immigrant who came here to escape bad conditions. Now we’re becoming the country to escape from.

Those of us who are smart, educated and talented should escape and bring those skills elsewhere. And we should be also helping others escape. Let the deluded followers of fascism live in a collapsing religiofascist society where everything is dominated by AI. At this point I just want to find the safest possible situation for my family and live out the rest of my life in peace. I want to protect my 11-year-old daughter who’s on the spectrum and is already exploring her gender and questioning her sexuality. I want my son to grow up with real values, not fascist red-pill machismo bullshit, while being forced to pray in school.

Or if possible, in a labor camp. You really need to start thinking of the welfare of the for profit prison system.

Fascism needs enemies to operate and will create them for purpose if none are ready to hand. Fascism also craves power and will seek to expand infinitely until the universe is bent to its will. I don’t blame any individual for fleeing when the price of staying is torture and death. If my personal circumstances were different I would do the same.

But, if every trans person suddenly left the US, Trump and co. would continue to find and terrorize enemies because that’s what they have to do to keep the terror machine alive. Brown, queer, trans, autistic, communist, doesn’t really matter what the label is, or even if it truly applies to a person, they just have to label enemies and then punish them publicly to show their supporters that they are being fought for. When they run out of victims, new ones will be selected. There’s no endgame; fascism is always plutocrats looting the country behind a facade of nationalism, and they get as long as the getting’s good. Then the facade collapses, sooner or later, and those left holding the reigns of the machine are (sometimes) punished, and the plutocrats move on to find the next grift, and the people are left picking up the pieces of a shattered nation.

I don’t know how long the American terror machine has left. It feels like it’s been on the tipping point since Trump got elected in '16. It could crash down after the midterms, it could be ten more years. But I know, until it dies, it will never run out of victims. By definition, it can’t. Until it does I’ll be here, doing what I can. And when it collapses, I’ll be around to help us get through the demolition and rebuilding. Hopefully building something better than before. :(

It’s good to remember how explicit the right is about their plans for trans people. There may be some Democratic politicians that are not as far along as they should be, but they are not drafting shit like Project 2025 either.

When people tell me they don’t vote because “both sides”, I wish the worst for them.

We are not in a position to have the luxury of that bullshit and if you can’t see or understand that, then you’re part of the problem.

As a minority, throw in a guaranteed citizenship pathway and I’m there.

Tired of dealing with this shit for 40+ years.

I think it’s an individual choice, so there’s no single right answer. And I don’t have a direct bone in this specifically. But in my mind any issue where leaving is presented as such, doing so in enough numbers means they were right and win the fight. So while I’m not directly affected by this, giving ground might give them more motive to try other groups, so I think we collectively should say hell no and fight for each other.

But again, everyone is different and if you’re in a situation where it’s dangerous to stay, I get leaving.

And go where exactly? What country can support these people, without putting them in a position to be further persecuted, only now without the protections provided by citizenship (in theory anyway)?
