The texts, sent from at least three numbers Monday and Tuesday evening, advertised guides on “bathrooms and beyond for trans kids at school” or offered to answer questions about gender-affirming care in Texas. The texts linked to TENT guides on how to respond to certain state laws and information about its advocacy work.
Although the messages linked to TENT’s website, the group said in a statement that it did not send them and didn’t know who did, adding the texts did not “represent the official position or communications of the organization.”
Negative reaction followed, a TENT spokesperson said in an email.
“As a result, TENT has been met with an onslaught of hate and threats via our social media and email channels,” the spokesperson wrote.
Text recipients expressed confusion on multiple social media sites, with several remarking that the messages had apparently been sent to self-identified Republicans and their friends.
Isn’t this an example of a “false flag”?
An interesting way to do one, but in practice, yes.
The’yre desperare to energize republican voters, and with the war and the shit economy, all they have is shitting on trans people.
That is not all they have. Please don’t become complacent.
They operate through fear. They need people to be anxious of anything insignificant and unlikely to be harmful. If its not the LGBTQ+ community, its the Hispanic community, the Black community, the Muslims, the educated, the credentialed, the disabled. If they can point to a group and say “The other party supports these people that are a threat to you” and they all say it, they’re more likely to believe it, and ignore what the true cause of the problems is.
I get at least one usually three anti Takarico texts a day since September. They were pretty much all about trans stuff until last week when they started in on trying to tie him to a billionaire. I also received the bathroom message referred to in this article
TACO-RICO refers to a different politician’s eventual legacy.
I get a lot of the republican one cause ive been voting in the republican primaries.
TENT?

Ty! I didn’t realize OP was quoting. I thought it was just commentary
lol, it’s easy to miss stuff anyway. :)
They should do it again. Regularly.
