Summary

This victory makes Trump the first U.S. president to serve non-consecutive terms since Grover Cleveland and the first with a criminal conviction to hold office.

Democrats were shocked by the loss, particularly as exit polls revealed significant shifts among key demographics: Latino men favored Trump by 10 points, and more voters identified as independents or unaffiliated.

The economy was the top priority for Trump supporters, while Harris voters emphasized democracy and abortion rights.

The election also showed increased dissatisfaction with the country’s direction, as 72% of voters expressed anger or frustration.

It’s no surprise that Harris, being an ex-cop presecutor, that led the way prosecuting people for cannabis, who supports Israel’s “defence”/genocide was unable to get left leaning people to come out and vote? This outcome was easily predicted months ago

The answer was you spent the last 3 months fucking your chances by chasing republican votes instead of rallying your own base. Its not rocket science. That shit was not inspiring.

Not only that, it was clear Trump was gaining voters because he said, “yeah, shit’s fucked, I’ll change it” and the Dems kept insisting “it’s really not that bad”. To people who have it hard, one party telling you that you’re just wrong and nothing will change, and the other saying they’ll change things for the better is a pretty obvious choice. Even if they’re lying about making it better, it’s already bad, and your other option is the same bad, why not give it a try?

Seriously, it was easy to see this election was going to whoever was promising extreme changes. The Democrats once again lost an easy victory because… Well I’m gonna be real Idfk. How the fuck you not have this in the bag?

“I’ll make homes affordable again by banning investment housing and corporate ownership”

“I’ll end the wars in Israel, and I’ll help Ukraine knock our oldest enemy for the cheap, saving American lives.”

“And I’ll fucking invigorate the middle class by tying minimum wage to inflation, guaranteeing you won’t fall behind.”

Its that easy. Say that shit, and when asked what you’d do differently than your predecessor, always say “a lot”. It gives you an opportunity to attack easy problems. I’ve lost all of my mind at this. I have no idea how the Democrats do this shit every fucking time.

Oh it’s simple. They’re paid by billionaires not to.

The Democratic party hasn’t been like that for 30+ years, at least the 90s. They’re a fiscally conservative party, and socially liberal. The only “liberal” part of the party is on issues that affect people like LGBTQ support or abortion, not anything dealing with the country or economy. The US hasn’t had an actual liberal party for decades, as soon as they started accepting billions in donor funds.

Fuck it, let’s start one right now and be so loud these next four years Trump sends us to one of his camps he’ll be opening soon. Anything, my mind is screaming and I’m not doing this again. I want a real fucking Left over here that actually cares and I want Citizens United to eat fucking dirt. This is much too exhausting and maddening to see year after year as shit continues to get worse and the rich get richer. I half hope the Earth collapses within the next five years just so these denier fucks can feel her wrath. But obv thats not a good line of thought.

Same. I’m so distraught that I am considering industrial sabotage just to potentially buy the future a few more minutes. Or maybe just to feel like for once I have some control over what happens in my life instead of some dickhead with way too much money that I’ve never met.

Exactly this. Meanwhile food prices are high, homes and rents are unaffordable, and healthcare sucks, and tuition is through the roof. Biden sending billions to fund a genocide while all of this shit was happening at home was the demotivation people needed to stay home.

I gritted my teeth and voted for her but as soon as she started touting the Rubes endorsing her I knew it was over. How fucking hard can it be to just be progressive? Its that fucking simple.

How would you know, we haven’t had a viable progressive party in decades. We’ve only had conservative and diet-conservative. Turns out that’s not a winning move. I don’t even know how we go about fixing the country at this point, but a top to bottom overhaul of the DNC couldn’t possibly hurt.

Funny, because it sure got Obama fucking elected. Even though the DNC didn’t support him in '08 and would have preferred the nomination going to Hillary. Even though even he is pretty milquetoast as far as progressives go, his campaign was more successful than anything else the Dems have done in a decade.

A black man offered change and universal healthcare and the U.S. gave him 8 years.

It verifiably hasn’t. Votes for Trump have remained constant for the last 2 elections. He is not gaining supporters, the Democrats are losing supporters.

Biden stayed in the race way too long and hindered the fuck out of kamalas campaign attempts. She had what, 6 months? Pffft. I mean that and a million other reasons such as lack of support from others dems.

We shot ourselves in the foot on this one. Now we gotta sit back and take it

Biden should’ve never run again in the first place. He should have kept to his pledge of being a “one term president” and gracefully made way for the DNC to hold an open primary where the voters could’ve expressed there preference for an actual message, rather than being force-fed yet another campaign of “What are you going to do? Vote for Trump?”

The answer is that doing the same dogshit reach across the isle campaigning while supporting shitty US allies like Israel is a losing strategy.

    They won’t learn though.
