But we kicked the guy that could win,… got it.

Fuck you democratic party. I understand bernie endorsed removing him, but he’s old and over the hill, and frankly never strong enough to lead.

So many of the world’s problems would be solved if we forced world leaders to retire at 65 like we already do with airline pilots.

Term and age limits just replace one person with another without the choice of the voters. No quality change is guaranteed.

Ask this: why is someone still in the position after an election if they’re doing a bad job? Or if their age is affecting their work, i.e. doing a bad job? Maybe we should fix that problem.

Only a few choices and they both suck? Well, let’s fix THAT problem.

Change FPTP to a system that actually encourages people to vote for whom they prefer? Maybe in local elections, in a few places.

End gerrymandering with mathematically fair electoral maps? Courts will throw that out.

Fix campaign finance? Congress will repeal Citizens United only when all the billionaires are dead and there’s currently a gun to their heads. Absolutely not a second sooner.

All are problems which inhibit a fair election. All are difficult to change to. None of the problem are fixed by placing a hard limit on terms.

And not to you directly, but I got a lot of downvotes on my post, and yet nothing rebutting it. This is why we’re stuck here. As an American I’ll say that it’s so American to just sit it out and hope next time things will be better.

I guess nobody’s really interested in quibbling over which reforms are correct and desirable when it seems like, politically, none of them are on the table for the foreseeable future anyway. We’ll talk turkey after the Nuremberg trials, yeah?

But for what it’s worth, I take your point. It’s a hard sell during the decade everyone learned the word ‘gerontocracy’ all of a sudden, though. Sentiment is against the older generations, and not entirely without cause.

She does a great job funneling federal money to the state in various forms. Maine tax payers pay less in tax than they get back from federal subsidies.

      And she takes hella bribes.

      Who the fuck is Amalfi?

That is rhetorical, fuck your rich coast. And especially fuck Austria.
