Thousands of Mississippians like Lowery — whose votes may decide a critical U.S. Senate race, in which Democrat Scott Colom holds a slim lead over Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith ® — are still waiting to have their ballots counted. That’s because of the Republican secretary of state’s contract with Experian, a global credit reporting agency whose data has been described as riddled with errors, that threw thousands of voters into “inactive” status in the months leading up to the general election.

In highly populated DeSoto County, over 15,000 people were removed as active voters in the time between the primary and general election, according to an analysis from Mississippi Today with data from the state.

Other counties with high rates of inactive voters include Jackson with 14,063 and Harrison, where Lowery votes, with 28,921. For many of these voters showing up to the polls on Tuesday, this was a shock.

My wife and I were purged from Texas voting rolls. I was able to get mine updated and fixed prior to election day. My wife had to update hers the day of. The staff at her polling place said they had around 50 people that day alone, who had been removed from the rolls and had to vote with a provisional ballot. Multiply that out and you have a good idea how hard the Rs were trying to keep people from voting.

He heard from others he chatted with, over the more than three hours he spent waiting to vote, that the snafu had been impacting voters all day.

Snafu? That makes it sound like it’s a little oopsy sort of a thing. I guess the original, literal meaning if the word is apt; Situation Normal All Fucked Up. But this is voter suppression. There’s no other way to describe it. This is a violation of these people’s right to vote. It is a serious crime andt it shouldn’t be made light of by calling it a snafu.

And is WAY more anti-democracy and pure crookedness than the almost zero number of “illegal voters” that the GOP pretended to be worried about. Another of many reasons that the GOP should never be entrusted with power ever again.

Brian Kemp went from rigging Georgia elections to a two-term governorship.

      It’s a “proud” tradition

So they attempted to ratfuck, and despite the ratfucking this is so close that they’re looking at provisional ballots, and the catch and cure process of looking at these provisional ballots is revealing the ratfuck attempt? They tried to cheat in fucking Mississippi, and not only was the cheating not far enough (again, in MISSISSIPPI), but the cheating not going far enough is the reason that we’ll find out about the cheating?

What a bunch of slimy fucking losers.

Stop equating acts of anti-democratic treason — morally and ethically equivalent to election fraud and coup de tat — with political sabotage.

These are criminals engaging in the highest of crimes.

Well, it is election fraud, so yeah it’s equivalent to itself!

Ratfucking is a term that includes electoral fraud and strongly implies illegal conduct.

This is one of the easiest steps for repugnant voter fuckery. It’s how kemp managed to stay as governor of GA for so long.

Wildly, the article leads with their subject checking the night before and still getting ratfucked.

Clint Lowery left work around 4 p.m. in Alabama to make sure he would have enough time to get back home to Harrison County, Mississippi to vote before polls closed.

He checked the secretary of state’s website the night before to look up his polling place. He checked his voter registration status, too.

When he arrived at St. Martin Community Center, Lowery waited in line for hours before he made it inside, where he described around 100 people snaking through the building. Then Lowery, a registered Mississippi voter of five years, was told he wasn’t on the precinct’s voting list.

A state government relying on a private credit bureau – one famed for being wrong all the time and leaking data like a sieve – to keep track of who can vote is… Honestly not nearly surprising as it should be.
