It will take severe work for anyone to trust the US ever again. It was hard enough after Trump the first time, but now American contrition will take much longer and require more. I’m talking like impeaching and removing a broad swath of this administration, rejoining international organizations (like the WHO, etc.), and joining others we hadn’t been in before (like the ICC).
American leadership is trashed for a generation at least, possibly forever.

No new date was set for a meeting and scientists warned that the cancellation risked undermining the development of flu vaccines for next year.
This is the group that assess the current flu strains and determines what strains should be protected against in the next flu shot. That decision needs to be made now so the vaccine can be produced.

I am not American (have lived their though), but I think the likelihood of this actually happening is even less than a focused street protest movement gaining control of key infrastructure nodes (ports, airport, federal and local state buildings, critical highway intersections), Trump’s admin losing control of small parts of the US, local internment of pro-Trump oligarchs and their affiliates and so on.
And the latter is borderline impossible. I would love to be proven wrong though (I will settle for any count).
