That is how dems took congress in 2018, it was gerrymandered for repubs but they got greedy and didn’t leave big enough margins for an especially unpopular leader.

The prez and his allies it appears browbeat all of their states into spreading out their margins further drawing them more districts. I suppose they figure they will just cheat.

Don’t you love how the media always pushes the “just hold on” agenda?

Can you all FINALLY agree, after an official condemnation of “socialism” that nothing is actually going to get better at all at this point and a bunch of picket signs have zero effect?

I haven’t seen anyone successful besides the republicans, so perhaps “trying” should first START before you suggest it stops.

The revolution will not be televised.

The right wing, the world over, has realised that they don’t need to suppress protests. They just need to suppress the news coverage that lets them grow.

I’m not American, but I suspect there have been far more attempts at counter action that just didn’t get traction. You just never heard about them due to media capture.

You also need a trifacta to really gain ground. A ‘body’ of popular support (marches etc). A political ‘brain’ to focus and guide it. Finally, you need the option of teeth, to make the other side pay proper attention to you. The Irish troubles are an excellent example of this at play. 95% of it was peaceful marches etc. The last 5% was the IRA and political parties.

Right now, your political party has been captured by the rich, and a media blackout is stopping the body growing to the size that can actually support the teeth.

It would be covered by other sources outside of US reach. And, the reason there is rarely anything in the news is because it’s not happening (in most places)

I’ve seen it happen in the UK. Large protests and UK news barely touches it. Even Facebook etc seems to push it down the rankings.

Because of this, the next protest is less effective, and so gets even less coverage on the international stage.

First, that was heavy sarcasm. Second, if you don’t think people have been trying, you haven’t been paying attention. If you’ve got some great ideas, that are realistic, we’re all ears. If your answer is get violent, then don’t bother responding.

That’s not how this works. You’ve identified the problem

Surely you’re not dumb enough to post your first comment without ideas. So what are they?

            I have an idea.

Straight up capture all but 100 million of every single fortune over 1 billion dollars and tell the people who hoarded that money they can be happy with the hundred million or they can see us happy when the steel drops.

Take that money and split it between a fund that handles healthcare and housing for every person in the US, citizen or no.

That would fix a lot of things on its own and should leave a few bucks left over.

But its not ‘real’ cash, its what the owner of it could/can raise against the collateral in today’s market.

So you can’t just go and grab it.

In fact, if you started grabbing the mythical wealth it would be worth less… It may even become worth nothing (or at least less than it cost to seize)… “Oh noes, the feds are taking Elon’s stock… Quick sell it all 11!!1” price crashes, Fed end up owning paper not cash.

Since the intent is to break the disproportionate power of billionaires, the subsequent change in value of the seized assets is irrelevant.

I think just culling the top 10,000 earners is a very achievable goal, and it would have a massive positive impact.

I’ve been telling the plans for years and no one does them so why would bother now. The sooner the USA drops to third world status the better.

It’s not MY problem to solve. But apparently very few Americans actually see their country is on fire. When you see fire you run or you work actively to put the fire out. No one is putting the fire out. And very few of you absolute morons are running!!

Oh, so you ARE that embarrassing to suggest you have all the answers. And just like EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THESE TYPES OF RESPONSES, you have nothing to contribute of substance.

              Shocking.
