Holy shit. I guess I need to be more optimistic.
Looks like he got 80% of the vote too
Not quite.

Still, fuckin’aye!
We got fucking south Carolina too, that wasn’t on my bingo card. If only she wasn’t a harpy.
Hell yeah, solid showing too, he barely squeaked out 2020, so really good improvement.
It’s 80-20 now, with only 11% reporting, but with a lead that big whatever gains the Republican makes won’t cover the gap.
@meat@lemmy.blahaj.zone wtf, that unheard of. You get 54% now a days abs they call it a landslide
I expected Ossoff to win; he was already the incumbent and there wasn’t anything wrong with him.
But HOLY SHIT KLB IS PROJECTED TO WIN TOO AND GA IS GONNA HAVE A DEMOCRATIC GOVERNOR! And she was (IMO) a much weaker candidate vs. Rick Jackson than Ossoff was against Collins. That one is an absolute slaughter compared to what I expected.
I know, I looked last night at the governor race and saw that only two write-ins were reported out of around 3 million counted. That feels serious.
Jon Ossoff’s win isn’t particularly surprising; not as competitive as Texas, Iowa, Michigan, Maine, Kansas, or even Florida or South Carolina.
The fact that they called Georgia this fast is kinda surprising tho.
Still, 80-20 is far outside what I expected.
It’s 60-40 now. It’s still a comfortable win, but you have to take into account Republicans generally not voting early.
his opponent probably helped some… mike collins being a far far faaaar right nutjob who did some pretty dumb things previously and during this campaign.
Still, we’re talking about the state that elected Marjorie Taylor Greene more than once.
No, we’re talking about the state that already had two Democratic Senators for the past six years. Judging all of GA on the 14th district is just plain hateful.
rome and dalton. the far northwest corner bordering tennessee and alabama… the most skewed-republican electorate of any district in georgia… a toad in a tutu would’a won there with an ® by its name on the ballot.
And even there, the Democratic candidate is currently at 40.7% of the vote with 89% of precincts reporting.
Would be nice if Iowa’s candidate didn’t keep shooting themselves. So far has been running the classic dem campaign of doing everything they can to lose while ahead
I’m reserving my optimism for Wednesday morning.
Anyone know of any sites that are keeping track of how much money conservatives spent against Democrats, only to lose?
