Stella Immanuel, the doctor down the road from me. It’s a good pick because she’s insane, she’s a woman, she’s a person of color, and she’s an immigrant. So she’ll be a multiple token to “prove” how he’s not against any of those people.

They don’t give 2 shits if we think their racist, sexist, or homophobic. They revel in those names. So do their followers.

Some are absolutely exactly who you have described. Some want to pretend that it’s really the Democrats that are super racist so they keep around their tokens so they can say “I have a black friend!”. Others are entirely disengaged and don’t give the slightest shit about it one way or another.

They’re not a monolith and they have to pander to each of these groups differently. For the first they pander to literal members of organized Nazi groups and peddle shit like the great replacement theory. For the second they appoint folks like this and point out folks like Gregory Cheadle and say “That’s my African American!”. For the third they yell about how prices have gone up and promise they’ll bring them down with voodoo economics. It doesn’t matter that the economics are lies. It doesn’t matter that they’re using women and people of color as props. All that matters is they tell enough conflicting things that everyone gets to latch on to their own lie and say that everything else was just bluster.

But Dr Drew is a reasonably competent doctor.

More importantly, would he be an obedient servant of the king, and follow his bidding (and delusions) without question? Because that’s the only thing that really matters here.

If they are “trolling” on Xitter, they are just trolling themselves, in the end. It helps out Elon and he’s in the tank for donvict.

I met a professor of engineering named Dr Doom once, I think he’d make a fitting surgeon general for trump. Unqualified and ominous

He’s not. But several years ago the media latched onto a well established term from “internet culture” without understanding (or perhaps caring) what it was actually describing, and decided that it meant ridiculing something on social media. It’s an example of a subculture’s slang getting thoroughly corrupted through mainstream exposure until it no longer means what it once did.

This headline is basically “Have you seen this meme?” and nothing more.

Its then shared on the same websites as memes get posted.

Such enlightened age of information we live in.

While I agree with your point, this isn’t an indictment of journalism. Comicsands.com is George Takei’s personal buzzfeed clone. I love George Takei but it’s not an actual news source, it’s a meme blog. Personally, I don’t think it belongs in any serious news oriented communities.

That just sounds like a tabloid with extra steps.

However i am not one to argue with subjective literature for entertainment but in this place mistook it for attempted journalism.

Would it fit better in /memes? It is not a meme but contains some and adds context.
