“I think Gov. Noem’s efforts have been sophomoric,” said former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, a Trump ally. “Running ads may have seemed clever, but to someone as sophisticated as Trump, her strategies have been a bit too obvious.”

Jesus Christ, everyone involved has the subtlety of a sugared up eight year old.

To be fair, Newt has never been known for subtlety or objectivity in his 30+ years of being an adversary of democracy and policy-based politics…

I’m surprised anyone could decipher what Newt said, what with his head being buried that far up Trump’s ass and all.

but to someone as sophisticated as Trump

Is there video of him saying that? I’d like to see the expression when he’s spewing such obvious lies.

He was on the news a lot during his time in congress. Just pick any clip at random and you’ll see this lying face.

Oh, of course. Of the many terrible cons, I think Newt is often overlooked as to just how awful he really is, and just how much damage he’s done to this country. I think he’s done more than almost anyone else to divide this country., and he did it on purpose. He’s brought on as a talking head all the time by the “liberal media” and tends to lie a lot.

But even by that standard, calling donnie sophisticated? That’s a bit much, even for one such as Newt…I wonder just how much of a shit-eating grin he had when he said that.

Honestly, probably second only to Regan in pure destructive effect, and part of that is because Clinton got caught with Monica, derailing Newts negotiations with Clinton to privatize social security. These talks were apparently pretty far along at the time.

Monica Lewinsky, besides being an absolute champion and a power house public speaker about what shame can does to people, also inadvertently saved social security.

“What does she bring?” Jennings said of Noem. “The possibility of weirdo drama. That’s it. She appeals to no constituency Trump doesn’t already have.”

I love the oblivious self-burn in that comment, that trump brings in enough ‘weirdo drama’ himself.

Noem’s advisers confessed they were taken aback that [Cricket’s murder] garnered such intense backlash. “I didn’t think that was going to be the headline,” a person close to Noem who had read the book told POLITICO.

What the hell else is in that book?!

They’re completely out of touch with Americans on things like abortion and LGBTQ acceptance, are you surprised they also don’t know how Americans feel about dogs?

He needs a VP to give him anti-abortion cover. That leaves well, Tulsi Gabard or Caitlin Jenner?

I think that last line sums it up - being “based” to unhinged weirdos is a selling point. But even psychos have to generally pretend to be normal for the average voter.

You don’t have to pretend to not be a white supremacist Putin-loving fascist anymore, but we haven’t yet normalized killing puppies. We’ll get there though, the evil forces of wokeness will be defeated.
