You’re partially right. The issue is that most Americans seem to be content with conservative leaders while things are good - both culturally and economically.

Americans need to understand that chasing the possibility of becoming one of the elites, one of the billionaires - which, let’s be honest, is a daydream at best for 99.999% of the population - is not what life should be about. You don’t have to have 80%+ of the country suffering just to enable 0.001% to live like kings and the 19.99% to live an okay life. We have the technology, the science, the ability to ensure that baseline quality of life for literally everyone on this planet.
It just needs to come down to everyone having the base understanding that it’s not the [insert today’s favourite minority group to alienate]s causing their issues, but the capitalists seething the culture war so they can get richer.

Both parties need to be disbanded, most members banned from holding a public office, and then a reform wave of progressives needs to happen - ban lobbying, ban financial donations above a certain amount (I’d say $1000 per person per year is a valid limit), strict campaigning guidelines, and strict penalties for not delivering campaign promises. Keep your politicians in check, have a proper recall procedure, term limits, transparency in financials as a baseline, and so on.
