I have a lot of things I want to say, but… never mind
https://thehill.com/homenews/6056216-gen-z-trump-voter-regret-midterm-clipping/
Reminder that millennials voted more strongly for Trump than Gen Z.

Honestly, I think it was mostly just a matter of how bad Harris was as a candidate
This is why I blame the DNC equally for where we’re at now. Biden should’ve bowed out after two years, we should’ve gotten a primary for 2024. They completely screwed over the younger base, who were still pissed about what they did to Bernie in 2016. Biden won by narrow margin in 2020.
I’m still mad the DNC didn’t hold a primary election when they all got together in Chicago (I think that’s where they were I could be wrong) after Biden dropped out. Would have been way better optics.
Also still think Biden could have just stayed in and won because sexism and propaganda was way more effective against Harris than another old white guy. Harris not that inspiring for voter turn out either in my opinion.
I agree about the Biden thing. After the terrible debate all the campaign needed to do was invite Trump to a cage match fight. No one would have remembered the debate and we would have an old, but sane president with cancer instead of an old malignant narcissist.
Hopefully the neo-Hitler Youth, aka Gen Z Republicans, won’t suddenly come down with a bad case of “Economic Anxiety”™ just before election day.
Even though many of them were likely affected by Trump’s first term, they couldn’t be trusted to make a good decision during the last election. They happily ate up the “Kamala will be worse” propaganda and learned nothing from it. There’s no telling what kind of thought-terminating cliche they might get trapped in just before the polls open.
They love them Hot Pockets though.
The dumb fucks.
I’m cynical so I’ll believe this once the results of the midterms are announced.
I’ve been burned by headlines before. Hard agree. I’ll believe it when the results are in
The article itself contradicts its headline. It says 31% of Gen Z regret voting for Trump, but that means 69% don’t regret it - and it gets worse for the other generations.
Thirty-one percent of Generation Zers who voted for President Trump say they regret it, a recent Navigator poll reports.
That would mean 69% of Gen Z who voted for Trump did not regret it. Not 69% of all Gen Z.
We have to realize that a majority of the USA is some combination of fascist, and dumb and strategize from there. Needing fascists to become non-fascist or dumb people to become smart at scale will ensure failure.
i like “hard agree”
What I’ve learned in my 35 years of life is that you can’t stop stupid people, stupid people will never change, and stupid people will always win by sheer numbers
You can’t stop stupid people but you can get them on your side with enough convincing and promises. Which is exactly what MAGA did. Stupid doesn’t equal evil. It’s the evil people convincing the stupid to do their bidding by making them feel better about themselves, promising the world, and convincing them that the evil they are doing is a good thing. And there’s a difference between stupidity and ignorance. You can’t teach stupid, but you can teach the ignorant. That doesn’t sound like a big distinction but it is. Imagine how many of these people could have been the most highly educated people in the country but ended up stuck in rural Iowa working the family farm.
You can’t stop stupid people, yet you can promote clever ones.
Being smart and educated needs to be cool again, there has been enough championing of stupidity and the banal.
It may not have been vilified like it is now, but it was never cool.
You can absolutely stop stupid people.
Donald. Trump. Raped. Children.
You should be revolting in the street overthrowing this shit, not deciding who to vote for.
Other countries have jailed those in the Epstein files. You idiots celebrate it by keeping him in power and doing absolutely nothing.
So lets all buy nerfed AK47s, AR15s and handguns. What do we strike first? City hall? Do we try to break into heavily fortified military bases? Travel sometimes thousands of miles to DC to wave weapons around and get mowed down by automatic gunfire and tanks? Fight against the national guard and the entire police force? Get flanked every time by satellite surveillance? What or who the hell do we even go after first? Trash our own neighborhoods, which is what usually happens during periods of civil unrest?
Any brilliant military commanders want to coordinate this uprising and make sure and prepare an army five million strong for urban combat and gueriilla warfare? Hannibal Barca? Che Guevara? Are you there to help us accomplish this in one month?
The capital is 3000 miles away, in a fortress surrounded by swampland, with posted snipers. If you feel so strongly you should prevent your own capital class from investing in our stock market.
Nah, hatefully screaming generalizations onto the Internet to an audience that is almost certainly on your side ideologically is a better option.
Also, you can’t afford time off work to do anything actionable. And even if you could afford it by using accrued time off, the lack of worker protections means you’ll be unemployed as soon as you start doing anything too controversial.
It’s nice to say “just get into the streets” but the vast majority of Americans are one missed paycheck away from homelessness and food scarcity. The average American is basically living hand-to-mouth, (many are even putting groceries on credit) just to survive. Regime change sounds nice, but a revolt would take months or even years, and your kids will go hungry in a few days. The only Americans who really have the time and means to effect meaningful change are retired or rich enough to not need a job. And those two demographics overwhelmingly support the current regime, because they’re old and rich.
It can be difficult for Europeans to properly grasp just how dire the situation in America is. The average American would need to travel for at least three days just to reach the capitol. That’s a solid 3 days of driving, only stopping to eat and sleep. All while not being able to take time off of work. Saying “just go protest” is like telling someone in Madrid, Spain to travel to Warsaw, Poland just to protest against their “local” leadership.
“Oh but you can protest at the state level” I already hear some people typing. Great, my state capitol is 450 miles away. That’s not even an exaggeration, it takes a solid 8 hours of driving to reach my “local” capitol building. It’s not something the average person can just do on a whim, nor can they do it regularly. It’s not like the average person can just pop over to the capitol for a protest, then be back home in time for dinner.
Maybe go make some noise at the city level. But that’s not going to do anything at the national level (or even at the state level) because they’re far away and easy for the lawmakers to ignore.
Lastly, good luck revolting against the federal government. I’m sure the average gun-nut’s AR-15 will be extremely effective against drone strikes. Oh wait…
Don’t forget the drones
If we want to be mowed down by automatic weapons sure. The people with the guns are the ones who said they would defend our constitution. The ones with the guns are his supporters. Us peaceful types are mostly unarmed.
this may surprise you but the results of elections can determine whether people face legal consequences
You’re cute in assuming there will be midterm elections in the U.S.
The Nazis in charge are doing everything to skew those results and if history is any lesson for the future, impeaching the orange rapist will be almost as effective as watching paint dry based on his last impeachment.
But I mean, good luck, enjoy your tainted greens, your infected beef and giving all your 401k’s to six oligarchs and a rapist while they flock you at every turn.
Enjoy.
so your solution is to help them do that
haha
i will not
What? Is critical thinking not taught in schools in America anymore?
I’m guessing it’s not. Jesus you guys are beyond fucked.
Revolting in the street?
Thirty-one percent of Generation Zers who voted for President Trump say they regret it
So 69% of Gen Z that voted for Trump don’t regret it.
And that’s the biggest demographic that regretted it. The demographic with the smallest proportion that don’t regret voting for Trump.
- 69% Gen Z
- 72% Millennials
- 80% Gen X
- 90% Baby Boomers
So the vast majority of Trump voters don’t regret it, according to this poll.
Of those that voted
Yeah, we’ll see, I guess. A whole lot of people bought into that “red pill” bullshit, especially younger men.
The Dems also choked harder than the Viper did when fighting the Mountain. I remember when asked to address the concerns of young men who felt like they were being ignored and left behind, the Democratic response was something along the lines “vote on behalf of the women in your life”.
Turns out, treating empathy as a zero-sum game and telling struggling people they’re the problem isn’t a great way to win their votes, especially when the other side is actively pointing at the people being catered to as the reason you’re struggling.
I mean, when you really think about it there were a significant amount of voters in 2024 that were only 10 years old when Trump got elected the first time and were still in highschool when he left office. Not only that, we were in the middle of quarantine for half their time in highschool and they probably spent a lot of that time online out of pure boredom. Add into that the fact that a lot of these kids were getting bombarded by anti vaccine sentiments from family members, the internet, and the former president. And seeing as they couldn’t go outside they couldn’t get a perspective from people irl.
I’m not saying they aren’t without fault. I’m just saying that they were set up to believe in these things before they even starting having opinions for themselves. I remember when I was in highschool I was on the whole “I don’t want a black Muslim as president” train because that’s what my dad and half my classmates believed. I’m lucky enough that I made it out the other side a decent person compared to my friends and family growing up, but I was not a good person in my youth. We are all susceptible to propaganda and if you think you are immune to it than you are probably just falling for a different flavor of propaganda without realizing it.
Not all of these kids were racists, misogynists, or bigots at heart or to begin with. They were just taught from a young age that they were doing the right thing. In my opinion, there’s nothing more evil than manipulating good people to do evil things in the name of being righteous. These red pill and MAGA influencers knew exactly what they were doing and made bank doing it.
Everybody did shit they’re not proud of as a kid. I’m glad you grew as a person, many did not .
Eh, the “both sides are the same” bullshit is starting up already, so…
Are they attracted to shiny things? What on earth drew them to Trump? It could happen again unless we stomp that out. If racism and misogyny played a role, we’re fucked for a long time unless we get another plague going.
Propaganda on all fronts, organized and well funded. TV, social media, church, school, everywhere. Most people would accept the lies then because it seems unlikely logically that so many sources are trying to decieve them.
This is the thing… polls show that Trump is unpopular, so they might not run him for president in '28. (Not because it’s illegal; that doesn’t mean shit to the Republican party.) Polls of likely candidates show that Republicans and Democrats are almost dead even. Unbelievable, but Americans are what they are.
Propaganda works
Gen Z regrets Trump support
Is it propaganda to make us hate “gen Z” (whatever that shit is) and forget what billionaires are doing?
LAUGHING MY FUCKING ASS OFF
Gen Z is basically neoboomers. They only care when it affects them.
